Can the Pistons continue home form?Comments Off

A patchy couple of days in the NBA see’s the weekend come just in time for us. I have several more tips tonight to put alongside our free double play, and be sure to check back by 8.30pm as I may well have just 1 more play to add from the Miami Heat game. I’m still waiting on that one, but here are my three picks for now. Good luck guys.

Utaz Jazz @ Detroit Pistons

Tonight the Pistons return home after last night’s win over the Bucks in Milwaukee. It took their recent record to 7 wins in their last 10 outings, having lost out twice in over time it tight games also. The Pistons have cashed for us the only time we’ve taken them so far this season and we’re taking them again tonight. Their 14-23 record looks fairly bad but at home they can boast 10-9, as opposed to the 19-19 Jazz who have only managed 8-15 on the road and are struggling yet again just like in recent years. The Jazz will be disappointed with yesterday. They gave up a comfortable lead to lose comfortably to the Hawks, and with the second of their back to back road game trip coming tonight against an in-form and improved Pistons side, it could be hard work but I like the Pistons.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Dallas Mavericks

Although I unfortunately pulled the tip, I myself still took the Grizzlies last night and watched the game. They covered the -2 for me against San Antonio Spurs after finally seeing out a 3 point win late in overtime. It was a gruelling game, and the Grizzlies should definitely be leggy against a Dallas side coming off of a huge win. They trailed by a big margin in Sacramento but showed character to come back, and although both teams would have taken equal confidence from last night I think the Mavs are getting better and I think if they can force a win tonight at home they can really think about getting on track with Nowitszki back in the side and improving – albeit very slowly. Let’s try the Mavs.

Orlando Magic @ LA Clippers (8.30pm UK start time)

I originally planned to leave this one out and just keep it as part of the free double, but I can’t resist taking the actually +13.5 line on Orlando Magic given their recent form when it comes to point spreads. Despite losing the last ten in a row, only one of those games have been by 8 points or more. Also, the Magic are actually 7-0 against the spread when their opponents are favourites of 8 or more points. They’ve also enjoyed a nice run in LA of 4-0 ATS and having covered it in the majority of their last 10 trips to LA! It’s still a slightly risky play but I really think the Clippers might slow up at times in this game while the gritty Magic hang with them. A blowout is always possible with this LA Clippers side, but it will be very hard work. Also, the original line opened at -12.5 with Marathon and his risen to -13.5. So we’re getting a whole extra point. A lot of the time this happens through the sheer number of ‘mug bets’ or ‘dumb’ punters just backing a big name in any game. Let’s try the Magic!
