Tonight I’ll be looking to add to the 8-2 run since Monday, and potentially reach our 20th NBA win in the month of January with tonight’s NBA Tips. Last night I said the bet was risky, but it actually ended up losing by just 4 points after the game saw nearly 20 missed three throws! An unusually high amount that cost us, and wouldn’t have nine times out of ten. However, we’re still on a killer run. Let’s see if we can start our weekend off well! Golden State Warriors @ San Antonio Spurs
As much as I like this Golden State team, I can’t say I like them traveling to San Antonio when star player Stephen Curry is out. A weaker opposition on the road than at home already, it becomes a big ask to keep the game tight with a Spurs team that scores for fun at home. Granted the Spurs don’t bring the best defense to the table, but when you know you’re gonna score 100 minimum as a matter of due course then maybe you can afford to sacrifice a little on the defensive end. The Spurs are averaging comfortably above 100 points and the line for Spurs points tonight is set at 108, a total they’re predicted by bookmakers to comfortably surpass. The Warriors are usually good for a 100 but after a tough battle with the Heat last time out, the Spurs intensity could be too much for a Warriors side without their leader. However, in anticipation of the Warriors ability to score also, we’ll cover ourselves slightly in this game with two bets. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if both came in.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks
In this one you have the best offense in the NBA, with the Thunder having averaged 105.2 points per game through 39 games. It goes without saying that’s impressive, and it’s reflective in their 31 wins and 8 losses on the season. Having only averaged 95 points against also, they own one of the better NBA defenses. The Mavs have a strong losing record despite a recent run of 4 straight wins at home. Against much weaker teams and still giving up 102 points per game to any and all comers, however, I think Durant and Westbrook could be two unstoppable objects for the Mavericks tonight in Dallas.
Oklahoma City Thunder -4 @ 1.90 with William Hill
Washington Wizards @ Denver Nuggets
Despite a 1 point loss to Sacramento last time out, this Wizards team are revived and they’ve been on a great run. We had the Kings -4 in that game but once again Washington covered, in keeping with their much improved form and several very strong wins before that road trip. We know that they’re still a poor road time but with John Wall back in the fray they certainly have the leadership on court and the scoring ability to keep with a lot of teams. By no means do I think Washington are going to roll in to Denver and win, it simply won’t happen, but it’s all about the total in this one and I think with the Wiz playing the Basketball they are playing we are being given far too many points not to chance the road time to cover the spread here.
