Last night was a long time coming in truth. Endless winning runs just don’t exist, no matter how good you are, and it was always only a matter of time before you lose when you’re on that sort of winning run. That said, The Spurs were only a few points off and the Thunder really should have won by 5 at the death instead of 3, so we were robbed a little by Dallas. Tonight however, is a fresh night, and we’re aiming to start a new run.
Milwaukee Bucks @ Portland Trailblazers
The Trailblazers are a much better side than the Bucks, and that’s a fact. However, we’ve seen in recent days in the NBA that is no guarantee of a win, as we recently cashed on an Orlando win over the Clippers and our +11 on Washington landed last night as the 9/1 outsiders beat the Nuggest, in Denver. Tonight we’ll be looking to avoid one of those upsets as I feel Portland can re-ignite their recently lost form against this Bucks side. After a below par performance that allowed an equally poor Cleveland side a win here a few days back, Portland will be keen to set the record to straight. Given recent form of the two sides this line is so much smaller than it would of been a week or two ago, so it’s good value to take what the bookies are offering on Portand.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Utah Jazz
The Cavs will be playing their 5th road game in a row, and although they somehow took a win over Portland, I think they face a much tougher test against the heavily favored Jazz here tonight. The home side come in to this one well rested and haven’t played since Monday night, so they come in to this one on the back of a 4 day rest and plenty of practices. They’re boast a pretty good record at home, going 11-5 against the spread posted by bookies and with slightly tired legs playing fresh minds, I think Utah will pull away at some point and this large spread is justified.

Washington Wizards @ LA Clippers
I’ve been putting this one off for long enough and I’m not sure why. We saw what happened to the Spurs last night, and it just goes to show double figure spreads in the NBA are a big number. We also saw this Washington team win by 4 points in Denver, as we took them as a huge +11 point under dog. Tonight, they’re an even bigger underdog. The bookmakers make the spread -12.5 in favor of the Clippers, and 13 or more points constitutes a very big victory. Is it one the Clippers are capable? We know it is. During their amazing win streak, they won by an average of 13 points a game. However, they currently seem a lot less invincible after we took the Magic +11 a week back, and they came here and pulled off a shock win. The Wizards are turned around as a team and they are very confident right now. John Wall being back in the picture means they really do have their leader and their glue back, and that showed last night. The Clippers should really come out of this game with a solid win but I just don’t see the need for them to over exert themselves to try and blow out a harmless (to them) Wizards team, so I think there’s a pretty good chance the Wiz will keep with LA in this one. Washington have covered the point spread in 10 of their last 12 games and we know they’ve won 4 of their last 5, but most importantly with Nene restored to a fully fit defense, they have some size and strength that can compete with the Clippers and Griffin. Also note the Clippers have been a double digit favorite ten times this year, and only covered 5 of those. After 3 straight road games and the Warriors coming up on Monday, again, I don’t see why LA would kill themselves to get a big win here tonight.
