Can’t really say I’m bothered we had 2 bad days, it’s only natural. It would of been pretty supernatural if we’d of just carried on the run forever! But to be honest, most months I’m gonna have those couple bad days but I’m always going to have the winning runs that go with it. Busy enough schedule tonight so it could be a good night to get on a new run – let’s see!
Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers (12.00am)
The 76ers are like a new team. They’ve really pulled together the past few weeks and at home they’re playing some of their best basketball of the season. They’re in with a shot of making the playoffs in the 8th and final spot, although they currently trail the Celtics convincingly, their wheels could easily fall fully off at any moment given the season long injury to Rajon Rondo. But if they are going to catch Boston, they need to be playing hard every night. After big wins over the Knicks and the Wizards, they lost a close fought game against the Grizzlies. They’ve also beaten the Kings and picked up a few other recent wins. We know the Magic have only won 2 of their last 23, but that’s been with a fully fit squad. Tonight they are faced with the big problem of not only being on the road with that record, and a poor recent spread record, but both Afflalo and Nelson are probable to miss the game, and not 100% if they do play. Glen Davies is definitely out, and for a long while. The 76ers have been covering a lot at home lately, whilst the Magic have struggled against fellow losing record teams.
LA Clippers @ Washington Wizards (12.00am)
The Wizards may of come back down to earth slightly, having lost a few on the road, but after being down 28 points in San Antonio, barely losing by 10 is a fair enough feat. Their home form does remain however, and through their 10-0 spread run it was at home when they still played their best basketball. They’ve now dropped a few spreads but the home record remains, and they’ve won 6 of the last 7 at home. Their spread record is still actually 11-3, which is more than strong enough given the schedule. We know they’ve beaten the likes of the Nuggets and the Trailblazers, but most importantly they’ve managed to beat the Thunder at home. They still have their spread record alive at home, going 6-0 in the last 6 games since Wall returned and as the Clippers have just full on lost the plot without Chris Paul recently, I don’t see why the Wizards can’t grab another home win. LA lost narrowly against the Rondo-less Celtics last night, after losing by 15 points to the Raptors on Friday. They also struggled past the Timberwolves this week and they’re looking not too great on the road right now. They’ve only covered 2 of the last 10 spreads set by the bookies.
Chicago Bulls @ Indiana Pacers (12:00am)
Here we have one of the best NBA home teams in the league. With an 18-3 home record, the Pacers are tough to beat, and despite letting us down on a -5 with a 1 point win the last time we took them, I’m taking them here again on the back of their 13 beating of the Heat. The Bulls surprised me with their performance over the Hawks on the weekend, but the Pacers aren’t the Hawks, and although they’ve gotten by until now it’s gonna be the 4th straight road game for the Bulls and all within the space of a week. Add to that Boozer and Noah should probably miss this game again, then it could be another tough, tough game for the Bulls where only the best of performances will keep them close to their opponents. They’ve picked up 2 wins on this current road trip but they were against unflattering oposition in the Bucks and the Hawks. Tonight, the Pacers have more motivation than ever to grab a home win, as they sit just 1 game ahead of the Bulls in the standings. A win for the Bulls tonight would be huge, but the Pacers even more so and with the depleted Bulls squad lacking a little depth (should all the mentioned names not feature, Kirk Hinrich included, then the Pacers at their best can definitely cover this spread tonight.
