Brazilian Tips – 09/02/13Comments Off

After an impressive midweek which saw us land 5/7 bets we’re moving on to the weekend where I’m hoping to make even more of an improvement.

Guarani vs Sao Paulo (18:20PM)

Guarani finally got that all important first win as they beat 9 men Sao Caetano 3-1, Guarani generally struggled to retain possession against the 9 men and have done all season so I can’t see this game being any different especially against a high pressing Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo will be really hurt by their last two performances against Santos and Ponte Preta and I’m backing them to bounce back especially with Ganso going to be given the opportunity to impress the coaching staff with their Copa Libertedores campaign just around the corner. I don’t think Guarani are anywhere near good enough to match Sao Paulo in this game.

Fluminense vs Vasco (7PM)

Fluminense are just days away from starting their Copa Libertedores campaign so this game won’t be of to much importance to them. I expect a full fluminense team to play at around 70% of their actual ability and a Vasco team to play to 100% of theirs, all in all matching up player for player and positions this should see either side cancel the other one out. We all saw what Flu striker Fred can do if given one opportunity as he showed against England on Wednesday night, the problem for fred is that he won’t be up against Gary Cahill but defensive rock Dede. I’m expecting a tight game and I think these reasons could see this bet become a winner.

Corinthians vs Sao Caetano (7PM)

Nothing seems to be going right for Sao Caetano at the moment as they find themselves languished inside the relegation zone, after SCs last game away to Guarani they once again found themselves pointless and 2 players down via suspension. Things are looking a lot more peachy for world champions Corinthians as they find themselves unbeaten in  5 going into a game that they fully expect to win. Corinthians have midfielder Paulinho to call upon this game after his international call up as well as Alexandre Pato who will continue in the forward role having impressed on his two previous outings.  I think Marathon are offering fantastic value on Corinthians -1.5 asian handicap as I just Cannot see Corinthians failing to win the game.

Internacional vs Pelotas (9:30PM)

This will be my first tip on the Gaucho championship so far this season and I’m confident I’ve found a winner, Internacional are an extremely good side especially when it comes to attacking as the possess the most potent attack in the Gaucho league with Damiao and Forlan. They say the league table doesn’t lie, the problem is that in Brazil it often does and each game has to be considered on a game by game basis. Inter are just getting into their stride after a slow start mainly brought on by a lack of fitness. Pelotas currently have 6 points from 5 games both of them coming in their previous two games, the question is are they good enough to get something here against Inter, In my opinion; no. I can see inter making a slow start as they slowly get a foot hold in the game before taking advantage of a poor Pelotas side. If Inter apply themselves properly then there’s no reason that they can’t score 4-5 this game.
