Friday Football Tips – 15/02/13Comments Off

A couple of football tips from me tonight. Fridays have proven fruitful for me so far this season, and with a few games going on in Europe, I’m looking to continue this and set us up for a great weekend…

Lille v Rennes (7:30pm)

Rennes come in to this game after a solid 2-0 home win where they dominated throughout before socring two goals in the last 15 to deservedly take all three points. They have now won 4 of their last 7 and have scored 2+ in 6/7. Impressively, so far this season they have lost just once to sides in the bottom half (1-0 at home to Evian). Their away form has been very impressive, with 6 wins in their last 9 and just one defeat (to a strong St Etienne side). Their 6 wins in 9 have been against 13th, 14th, 18th, 19th, 20th and at leaders PSG. They have a lot going forward and cause the weaker sides a lot of problems. Lille have been struggling, with just 3 wins in their last 12, and their 3-1 shock win at Lyon was their first win in 5. With several players capable of goals, I genuinely can’t understand the price of this bet. Its only Friday, but this will most likely be the best value bet of the weekend.

Wolfsburg v Bayern Munich (7:30pm)

This is the first Friday game for Bayern this season, which is useful for them as it gives them an extra 24 hours recovery before their UCL game against Arsenal. Bayern really are showing their domestic prowess, losing one Bundesliga game in their last 25. Away from home, they have now won 9 drawn 1 of their 10 games this season, with all 9 victories being by 2+ goals without conceding. This is truly outstanding form and a prime example of why Asian Handicap is important for extracting value from the markets. Wolfsburg’s home form has been indifferent with just two victories in their last 10 (conceding 15 goals). Dost scored last weekend and will be a threat, but Bayern have such defensive strength they should be able to cope. Diego is another potential danger, but Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez are strong and good at breaking down play. We backed them last week and I’d expect a similar dominance again tonight. With Muller and Mandzukic unused subs in the 4-0 thrashing of Schalke, their attacking options are formidable.
