I have a couple of Copa Libertedores tips today, alongside terry’s UCL Tips. A disappointing weekend only leaves me more determined to come back with a very strong midweek in the Copa Libertedores.
Club Olimpia vs Universidad de Chile (0:30AM Wednesday morning)
LA U travel to Paraguay to face Olimpia in the second round of the Copa Libertedoes in what should prove to be a fantastic game. In their opening Copa Lib game Olimpia went down 3-1 to Newell’s old boys and although they put in a respectable performance the difference in quality came through in the end. La U comfortably beat Deportivo Lara 2-0 in their first game with two goals from forward Ubilla who is easily one of the best forwards in the Chilean league. With both styles of play took into consideration I can see La U picking up a positive result here especially with the width the offer in attacking positions.
Huachipato vs Caracas (10:45PM)
Huachipato were absolutely fantastic away to Gremio as they managed to pick up a shock 2-1 victory against big spenders Gremio. Although Huachipato are struggling in the Chilean top flight they will be putting everything into this game in order to put themselves in a fantastic position to qualify. Caracas lost their opener 1-0 at home to Fluminense in what can only be described as a snooze fest, Caracas conceded fairly early against Flu and once this occurred Caracas were then happy to lose the game by a goal to nil as they just didn’t have the quality to break through the Flu back line. Caracas will be coming into this game expecting to lose and I fully expect them to as they don’t have the quality in midfield to cope with the five man Huachipato midfield.
Lewis’s football tips:
Club Olimpia vs Universidad de chile – Universidad de Chile win either half (2.00 William hill)
Huachipato vs Caracas – Huachipato -1 (2.18 Marathon)
