Today I’ve got a tip from the Paulista game tonight, as well as a couple from the Copa Libertedores.
Sao Caetano vs Sao Paulo – 10:30pm
You’ll have to excuse the small preview for this tip as its currently 2:40am and I’ve been trying to get team information on this game for the last three hours in order to supply an extra tip for this game. Sao Caetano have been awful this season in virtually every game and their only decent play thus far this campaign has been the 40 year old Rivaldo who clearly at his age will not be able to sustain high performance levels for the entire campaign. Sao Paulo are intending on trying a new formation which will allow them to swamp the midfield with large numbers as well as quality with Ganso and Jason confirmed starters this game. Try to get on this bet as soon as possible because at 1.89 it represents real value and i’m sure that price won’t be around come kick off.
San Jose vs Corinthians – 1:00am
Defending Copa Libertedores Corinthians travel to Bolivia to face San Jose in what should prove to be a fascinating clash. Corinthians have rested players in the early stages of the Paulista in order to be successful in the Copa Lib and this is their first real test to see if that gamble has paid off. San Jose are far from a great side and on an average playing field they’d struggle to even compete with Corinthians talent, but this isn’t an average playing field as San Jose are from Bolivia where the altitude can cause real problems to athletes that are not accustomed to it. Corinthians know the difficulties of playing at altitude all to well and you can’t become Copa Lib champions by failing every time you play at altitude which is why I’m backing Corinthians to scrape through their opening game here.
Fluminense vs Gremio – 1:00am
Gremio travel to Fluminense in what could prove to be the game of the round with current Brazilian champions Fluminense meeting the spending power of Gremio. Gremio’s performance in the opening round of the copa lib was totally unacceptable and I’m fully expecting them to right some wrongs in this game. This game is already a must not lose for Gremio who find themselves 3 points behind where they’d have expected to bed at this point. I’m confident that Vargas and Barcos will cause the Flu defence problems this game and I really expect Gremio to grab a positive result here in Rio. With a win in their first game Flu have no pressure on them in this game as they’ll happily take a draw against what will prove to be their toughest opponents in the competition this season. I’ll be backing Gremio to get a result here.
