NBA Tips – 27/03Comments Off

(Free: Suns @ Jazz Under the total) – It’s really been paining me to look at the results page after that one rough week we had. Lots of L’s to cancel out the W’s. Every Tipster no matter how good is going to have at least one and I guess that was mine. However, it’s a lot easier on the eye to check the records now and see I’ve won 5 of the last 6 and also 6 of the last 9, so today we have a chance to fully restore our NBA success with a winning card!

Sacramento Kings @ Golden State Warriors – (2.30am)

I’m not the biggest fan of the Kings but I think they’re in a nice little spot here. They are improving on the season and 10 is always a big number you obviously have to think about. Having thought about it, the Kings are playing some of their best ball of the season whilst the Warriors are coming in to the game on the back of an albeit impressive, but energy consuming win over the Lakers. In recent weeks we’ve seen the Kings absolutely slay the Clippers and the Bulls and often it does depend whether Jekyll or Hyde turns up, but I think tonight we should see the firing Kings that put up some heft offensive numbers. They’ve also recently covered with ultimate ease at the Nuggets and the Heat. The home side has won all 3 meetings this season. In Sacramento the Kings won 94-92 and 131-127, whilst the Warriors won 83-87 on home court 19 days ago. All of the games this season as you can see have played out to 4 points or less and whilst the Warriors are always capable I think it’ll need to be a very, very good performance from Golden State to win by double digits here.

Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers – (11.00pm)

The Celtics certainly won’t want to lose their 6th game straight by losing to the lowly Cavs, in a losing skid that’s already seen them go down by more than 20 points to the Hornets. Both of these sides have lost 5 straight. The Celtics can surely attribute some of their woes to tough scheduling spots and games against several very tough teams such as the Heat. Their home loss to the Knicks last night was disappointing, but now they have a chance to go at a team below their level right now for the first real time in this losing run. The Cavs will be without Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters and despite the now absent Garnett not playing for the Celtics I think they have the ability to step up. The position they’re in right now means they are guaranteed the playoffs but if they keep sliding, they’re going to lose their 1 game lead over 8th place and that ultimately means the Celtics are gonna be facing the Heat in the playoffs. Not something you want to hear if you’re a Celtic fan, considering this Miami team could finish the regular season unbeaten. Tonight is a night where Boston has to force the issue. They have the quality to do so and they’ve been a good bounce back team in their division this year.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Philadelphia 76ers – (11.00pm)

And who is waiting in the wings and hoping to over take and Celtics and avoid the Heat in the playoffs? 8th placed Milwaukee Bucks. This Bucks team is also on a losing skid (3 games) but in the NBA that can come and go with ease, and they’ll have no better chance to snap any losing streak this season than a trip to a 76ers side who played last night and have lost 16 of their last 21 games. The 76ers are also playing their 3rd game in 4 days and there’s always a possibility a little fatigue can show late on. The Bucks have won all 3 meetings between the sides this season and I suppose in one way that puts the 76ers in a revenge spot, but you probably need to consider there aren’t too many teams in the NBA that won’t win their series vs this team so they can’t be in revenge mode against EVERYONE, and the Bucks and the 76ers aren’t a threat to each other after tonight’s game. At this part of the season the true playoff teams tend to get it down. The 76ers season is long since over whilst the Bucks still have plenty to be playing for including all important playoff seeding, chasing down the Celtics and avoided the red hot Miami Heat.
