NHL Betting Preview – 09/04Comments Off

Yesterday was a no bet day in the pucks, as it was a very ugly card and there wasn’t much value to bet from. Tonight isn’t much better but there is one or two that I fancy.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Carolina Hurricanes – (00:05am)

The Penguins lost their only game against the Hurricanes this season at the start of last month. The Penguins have since gone on a 15-game winning streak run, and come out the other side of it with two losses. The Hurricanes are one of the worst teams in the NHL, and have the worst home record in their conference.

The Penguins have defender Letang back, and are one of the top scoring teams in the league. The Hurricanes have lost their last six games at home by two goals or more. Furthermore, the home side have lost 12 of their last 13 games in Carolina. The Penguins however, have won four of their last five on the road. Expect the Penguins to come into this game all guns blazing against a very poor side in the Hurricanes at the moment.

I did fancy -2 @ 3.75, and even maybe -2.5 at a push, but with their star player Sidney Crosby still out after taking a puck to the mouth, I think I’ll keep it simple tonight.

Recommended Bets

Pittsburgh Penguins -1.5 PL @ 2.96 – Matchbook.
