Apologies for the slightly later post this evening. Hopefully you all saw the USA post earlier, however some less than wanted personal circumstances arose and pretty much took up my whole Saturday. I already had my bets decided but not written, so here are a few quick preview.
Costa Rica vs. Belize – (11.00pm)
We all saw what the USA did to Belize. A 6-1 thrashing that possibly should of been 6-0 but for a moments lapse in concentration. Costa Rica were very below par in game 1 and to put it lightly should have received a rocket up the ass before this game. They did still however beat Cuba a comfortable 3-0, and there is not a whole lot to this bet other than the odds tell you what you need to know. At comfortably odds on you’d expect at the very least the same 3-0 Costa Rica victory, albeit through a better performance, but you’d class any other result as a slight surprise I’d say.
FC Dallas vs. Real Salt Lake – (2.00am)
It’s a fixture where I’ve regularly taken the home side, and often won. It’s amazing how much difference a certain travel schedule, altitude or humidity can affect a game in the MLS. After nearly 10 years of being in the same league together, RSL have never won on a trip to Dallas. Add to that they’ll miss Rimando, Beckerman, Beltran and Sabario, they’ll go their rather short handed with seemingly little chance of snapping the record. A year a go the absence of Blas Perez would spell disaster for FCD, but with the serious depth they possess, including tonight’s starting striker Kenny Cooper, FCD are an MLS Cup title contender this season. Any road trip without Rimando is tough for RSL.
Sporting KC vs. Toronto FC – (1.30am)
Sporting have turned a corner back in to form recently. They’ve always seemed to work in patches of good form and poor form, and a 2-1 win in Chicago has huge potential to spring board some great form. TFC somehow over came SKC early season, 2-1, and revenge will definitely be on the minds of the players. TFC are missing a number of players against a strong Sporting side who this week had 3 players named to the MLS All Star XI. Earnshaw may well be fit, but Osorio, Henry, Morgan, Koevermans and Bekker will be out amongst others. This is a tough trip at the best of tips.
