We cleaned up on the Champions League last time out, and there’s plenty of action the following 2 weeks as all of our MLS teams return to action.
CCL – LA Galaxy vs. Cartagines – (3.00am)
LA are on a roll at home in MLS, and there’s no reason it should change against a side that’s really no better than your average MLS competition. It will be the first time I’ve seen LA and Cartagines meet, but the inconsistency between home and away form in this competition can often be recent enough to take a price. It’s the first time the visitors have qualified since 97’ and they’re currently only two games in to their domestic season. They did manage to open their CCL campaign with a 4-2 win over Isidro, but it’s no surprise after seeing LA put 8 past Isidro over two group games last season. It’s not the hardest game for LA so you may expect some sort of shuffling of the squad, but the fact it’s at home and no travel is required means we’re likely to see at least 3 of 4 when it comes to Juninho, Keane, Gonzalez and Donovan. Even if the International calibre players don’t start, Cartagines don’t really have much to match up against your average level of MLS quality either.
