We had a nice 5-1 night last Wednesday, so let’s hope we can take advantage again on the NBA’s busiest night.
Indiana Pacers @ Charlotte Bobcats – (12.00am)
The Indiana Pacers are ranked 2nd in NBA defence, whilst Charlotte are ranked an impressive 6th place. Offensively, these sides are no-where near the top 10 and a big reason for their low-scoring ways is their paces. Indiana and Charlotte are ranked 19th and 28th respectively (out of 30). More interestingly, the Bobcats offence is also ranked just 28th out of the 30 NBA teams, whilst the defensively orientated Pacers are only 15th themselves. This game fits the age old system of betting the Under on the lowest total of the night, providing there are 4 or more games, but more importantly are our trends. The Pacers are 8 point favourites tonight, and as a favourite of 5-10.5 points the Pacers have gone under in 5 of their last 6 games overall. On the road, they’ve also gone under in 5 of 6 in that situation. As an underdog of 5-10.5 points, the Bobcats have played 35-15 in favour of the under, and the under has landed 7-1 in their last 8 overall, whilst it’s 13-4 in the Pacers last 17 games.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Boston Celtics – (12.30am)
The Celtics started the season extremely poorly but they’ve surprised a few teams since, but it’s a different task to beat the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are a very powerful team that plays tough defence and quick and physical offence. The Celtics star pairing of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are both well in to their 30’s and getting no younger, and they’d prefer a slower pace and softer tone than this Memphis team will set early on.The Celtics are currently just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games, whilst the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road outings. Add to that, over the years the Memphis Grizzlies are 47-19-2 ATS as a favourite of 0.5-4 points.
Washington Wizards @ Milwaukee Bucks – (1.00am)
I made the mistake of backing the Bucks +8 the last time they played, at least thinking they’d put up some fight, but this team is absolutely done this season already. It may be early, but they’ve lost their 9 games now and they look like they couldn’t care. There’s every single chance their as interest in what they’re going to eat for Thanksgiving dinner as there is of them caring about the results against the Wizards tonight. John Wall was brilliant last night with 31 points for the Wizards and a bag of assists and steals to go with it, topped off by one of the dunks of the season. He’s scored 30+ in three games straight and this Washington team have won 4 of their last 5 and they’re coming up against the least efficient NBA defence, and probably the worst group of players. Trend wise, not only are the Bucks 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog and 19-40 ATS in their last 59 home games, but they’re 1-5 ATS when they’re playing against a team who scored 100+ points in the previous game. The Wizards should be reaching the 100 point mark tonight.
NY Knicks @ LA Clippers – (3.30am)
It’s important to note how bad the Knicks have been this year. Something is not right with them. Tyson Chandler is injured, Felton may also miss and the effort isn’t really there from them. They lost by 13 points on the road and 14 points at home to this Clippers side last season – and the NY Knicks of last season were considerably, considerably better. The LA Clippers are 7-1 at home this season and they’ve outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points per game, which is in-line with tonight’s spread, as they’re -10 point favourites. The Knicks, however, come in to this game having lost 6 straight and they’ve covered the spread in 0 of those games. There’s also a 24 point differential in the scoring trends, as the Clippers are averaging a shade above 114 points per game at home, whilst the Knicks average 90.3 away. I don’t rate games this highly very often, but it has the potential to be an absolute blowout.
