Ajax dropped points at Utrecht on Sunday after being frustrated in front of goal. Today they face Groningen who haven't won away in 4 games.
Ajax need points to continue their title challenge whereas Groningen are within touching distance of the European places. They are outsiders, but kjnow a strong run could see them catch up with the few sides above them.
The home side haven't conceded in their last 3 home games, and this is a key focus for de Boer - that and ball retention. He knows that with a strong defence and a lot of possession, the quality in his side will not fail to create plenty of chances. Today is no different, and they have the capabilities to win comfortably.
The Ajax manager didn't start with his strongest XI at Utrecht and that could have been what cost them three points. I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Siem de Jong, Sigthorsson and Poulsen return to the starting XI, although he might not start with them all.
Groningen have struggle on the road, with their away form being the main reason they haven't been able to push themselves higher up the table. They have already conceded 5 at Twente and 4 at Heerenveen, as well as 4 at low scoring Cambuur too.
This line offers good value as a 2 goal margin is the least I expect.
