Villa find themselves in 10th place after 7 points from the last 5 games have ease their relegation worries. West Ham have made a slight recovery too after looking all but done at the bottom of the table. with 7 points from 4 games they have recovered - but still lie in the relragtion zone due to the results around them.
This is a real true 6 pointer at the bottom of the table (even though Villa are currently 10th!), as any of the bottom 11 sides could be dragged in to the bottom three with a bad run of results.
With just three home wins this season, backing Villa is a risky move, and whilst West Ham have won just twice on the road, they've lost only half of their away games. They've also managed a more than impressive 6 away clean sheets this season, including 2 in their last 2 games (at Cardiff and Chelsea). Villa have lost here against Crystal Palace on boxing day - a side that is tough to break down, much like West Ham.
I think the hosts will find this game tough, and backing West Ham +0.50 (double chance) is the much better option here. Carroll is suspended, but we could get the Italian signings seeing more action here today...
