Utecht lost their last two games going in to the winter break at home to PSV and away at Go Ahead Eagles. Feyenoord on the other hand will have wished they didn't have a winter break after winning four on the bounce before the festive season.
This will be a tough game for both sides, as both have apsirations and ambitions for this season that three points here would certainly help with. With neither side likely to give too much away, backing unders could be a good idea maybe... However, the value isn't there in the goals market.
Sure, utecht lost their last home game 5-1 against PSV, but this result is more of an anomoly than the fact they hadn't lost at home until that game. The hosts have won 6, draw two and lost one at home this season, winning to nil on 4 occasions. They come in to this game as huge underdogs and I am surprised they are priced as highly as they are. They have stopped both AZ Alkmaar and Heerenveen from scoring here already this season, with the latter being the league's top scorers (on par with Vitesse).
Feyenoord had put their sloppy start to the season well and truly behind them, losing only twice since they lost their opening three fixtures and have been playing catch up. Away from home they have not really been firing on all cylinders. With just three away wins, from 8, you can begin to see why backing the home side on a positive handicap makes perfect sense. the away side have good quality players so it's by no means a certainty that Feyenoord can't get all three points, but at this price we will back Utrecht +0.50
