Southampton host Stoke City at St. Mary's in one of 6 Premier League 3pm Kickoffs...Stoke beat United last weekend which saw them jump all the way to 11th in the table after a mediocre season so far. Southampton performed well at Craven Cottage and three goals from England's three internationals in the second half saw them run out 3-0 winners. Just two postitions, but TEN points seperate the two sides...
Despite their reputation and league position, Souhtampton haven't been the most consistent side so far this season. They've only won 5 from 12 at home this season, and have struggled against some of the lower sides here - losing to Villa and drawing with Sunderland and West Ham.
The line is hugely in the favour of Stoke City in my opinion, despite their away form. They have been comfortably beaten on a few occasions, but reading in to the results a little more and you can see it isn't as clear cut as it seems. They have lost by more than one at Arsenal, Spurs, Everton and Newcastle but competed in the other games. At Newcastle they were unfortunate with a few decisions that exaggerated the defeat, and Arsenal/Everton/Spurs are in the top tier of EPL sides.
+1.00 is a decent line for me, and I think they can frustrate the home side and sneak a point.
